Lynwood officials urge reforms to prevent sexual assault in jails
An effort to reform and bolster prevention of sexual assault and rape in Los Angeles County’s jails and detention centers was unanimously approved Tuesday by the Board of Supervisors. The motion was passed amid a recent wave of accusations of sexual misconduct that stretches from the halls of state capitals and within the entertainment industry to jails and juvenile camps. In September, a 31-year-old Los Angeles Sheriff’s deputy was arrested on suspicion of two counts of rape
